Unattended installation of ADK (Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit) for Windows 8.1

If you want to install ADK the unattended way, you can do this by using the following command line:

adksetup.exe /Features [Insert your features] /norestart /quiet /ceip off

Example:

Unattended command line to install the ADK with deployment tools and USMT feature.

adksetup.exe /Features OptionId.DeploymentTools OptionId.UserStateMigrationTool /norestart /quiet /ceip off

 

Available Option IDs are:

OptionId.ApplicationCompatibilityToolkit

OptionId.DeploymentTools

OptionId.WindowsPreinstallationEnvironment

OptionId.UserStateMigrationTool

OptionId.VolumeActivationManagementTool

OptionId.WindowsPerformanceToolkit

OptionId.WindowsAssessmentToolkit

OptionId.WindowsAssessmentServicesClient

 

You can get the available option ids by executing the fowling command:

adksetup.exe /list

 

If you want to install ADK in a different installation path you can do this by executing:

adksetup.exe /installpath [enter your installation path here without brackets]

Example:

adksetup.exe /installpath D:\ADK\

 

If you want to install ADK on a machine that is offline you can download the installer files on a online machine by executing:

adksetup.exe /layout [insert your download path here without brackets]

Copy the files adksetup.exe and the downloaded installer files to location that your offline machine can access and run:

adksetup.exe /Features [Insert your features] /norestart /quiet /ceip off /installlpath [enter your installation path here without brackets]

Example:

adksetup.exe /Features OptionId.DeploymentTools OptionId.UserStateMigrationTool /norestart /quiet /ceip off /installpath D:\ADK\

 

If you don’t want to select a feature and install the full set of the ADK (online or offline) you have to do this by executing:

adksetup.exe /Features + /norestart /quiet /ceip off /installpath [enter your installation path here without brackets]

Example:

adksetup.exe /Features + /norestart /quiet /ceip off /installpath D:\ADK\

 

For logging your ADK installation you can use the /log option and specify a path where you want to save the installation log file. If you omit the log file path or don’t set the /log option the default log file is stored in %temp%\ADK.
